Our Network.
Finding Services and Products…
The Low Vision sector is made up of an extremely difficult network. This is simply because there are so many different avenues that can be taken. The most popular gateways are through Hospital Low Vision Clinics, Opticians, Local Charities and local Council. This is generally decided by who holds the contract, locally, to register people as having Low Vision. Due to this factor, people in different parts of the country go through different channels and are informed accordingly. Personal circumstances can also mean some people may benefit from services others cannot.
As a World leader in the Low Vision and Blindness sector we endeavour to support, assist and help all involved in our field. We have broken this section down to assist in the best way possible by giving you the search facilities for resources that are “local “ to you.

Hospitals.
We supply a large number of Hospitals with Optical magnifiers. Low Vision Clinics often register a Visual Impairment and those Hospitals that have an Eye Clinic Liaison Officer (ECLO) are definitely worth seeking. ECLOS are there to advise and point you in the right direction after registration.
Opticians.
It is likely your first port of call when suffering with an eye condition/problem is to go for a routine eye-test. This means the Optician is generally always the first to pick up something isn’t right. Opticians are likely to point you to the local Hospital. Opticians can still support you after registration and often stock magnifiers, lighting and Anti-Glare shields.
Local Council and Sensory Teams
Most Councils will have a Sensory Team. This is often split into Adults and Children’s. Sensory Teams cover all basis of Low Vision including daily living, mobility and accessibility.
